Juxtapositions

Can't get much further away from Country Music than Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails.  How about Nirvana and Tori Amos?  

Preconceived likes and dislikes can often lead us astray but in music they can rob us of really pleasant surprises. 

Test your own preconceived notions about these artists and their genres.  To me, the true test of an artist is how much they can own the song they sing.  I kind of doubt that Trent Reznor and Johnny Cash shared a common vision of the song Hurt but I wind up believing both of them which, for me, makes for a wonderful performance.
